NAILGUN ORION

Nailgun Orion is a Rockerboy with a moderate following operating out of Night City. He plays the guitar and sings, primarily as a solo act. His typical genre is punk and rock, but he doesn't mind straying into other genres as well. He dresses alternatively and leans hard into the use of cybernetic augmentation as an aesthetic or fashion choice, and many of his cybernetics are cosmetic only. He does a few live gigs, but mostly posts his music on the Net. He is openly and loudly anti-Corp, and refuses to ever sign onto a record deal with one, which caused a little bit of conflict in his past.

To make ends meet financially, Nailgun does grunt work in a small mercenary group as well. He isn't the most useful in combat, as a Rockerboy, but he does his best to make his skills useful to the group. This has led to a few close calls and some serious medical issues, including the loss of one of his hands via bullet wound and subsequent firearm trauma.

Details

Background

Nailgun started his musical career when he was very young, not having enough money to go through a more traditional institution. With the help of his closest childhood friend, he started improving his skills on the guitar and getting his sound out there.
His friend, Stinger, was another Rockerboy that primarily played the guitar. The two of them went on to form a band called Circuit Breaker Blitzkrieg, gainined three other members. They were reasonably successful as a group, and started gaining a bit of popularity. Nailgun went by the alias Electro at the time, and was romantically involved with Stinger for the duration of the band's existence. The other members of the band were Deadshot, a tough-as-nails bassist, Giga, a sharp-tongued keyboard player, and Byte, an energetic drummer. The band operated well for several years.

The Split

The band eventually became tense as they disagreed about how to push their career to the next level. Stinger insisted that they should sign a record deal and get their name out there, while Electro (Nailgun) refused to do so. Stinger eventually went to a music Corp by himself, signed a deal, and promised to get the others to do the same. He lured Deadshot, Giga, and Byte into the deal by telling them that all of the others had already agreed, and took it to Electro last, under the assumption that he would be pressured into agreeing because everyone else had already signed. Electro refused, stating that the very principle of music was about expression and enjoyment, not about getting money from a brand deal. Seeing that everyone else wasn't going to back down, Electro split from the band, cursing the rest of the members out for betraying his trust, particularly Stinger, whom he told never to speak to him again.
He found a place of his own and kicked off his solo career under the alias Nailgun Orion.

Appearance

Nailgun dresses alternatively, using leather, metal, and bright colors to give himself a striking appearance. He likes to wear heavy boots, bold jackets, and thin shirts that show off his tattoos. He tends to lean towards things in the range of blues, purples, and pinks, and enjoys the visual motif of five-pointed stars. He's also not afraid to dress a little bit androgyneously, and leans hard into the "persona" of being a Rockerboy with tighter-fitting clothing and exposed skin.
His hair is a cosmetic cybernetic augmentation called Techhair, which is essentially a digitally enhanced hair that can be changed in style and color very easily. He likes to wear his hair long and with a lot of volume, and it glows in a very bright light blue. He will change his hair to match his outfits when he feels like it, and also as part of a diguise.
His eyes, while not cybernetically augmented, are still cosmetically decorated. He wears tech-lenses, which are simply contact lenses that can be controlled cosmetically in the same was as techhair. He likes to keep them a bright purple shade that matches his tattoos.
Nailgun has many Light-Tattoos that he changes a lot, but some remain constant. He has thin tattoos of purple arrows running down from his eyes, up his jawline, down his neck and shoulders, and down his hips. He also has a purple tattoo of the constellation Orion on his chest, which can be seen glowing through thinner shirts. His forearms are decorated with cyan circuit-line EMP threads tracing up from his wrists, and his upper arms often change, but are usually flames of some sort. He also has several piercings.

Behavior

Nailgun is loud, brash, and confident. He's determined and outspoken, and a very charismatic person. He's extroverted and likes to get involved, but knows his limits and will step back if he thinks he's too close to the edge. He has a strong set of morals that he's not willing to change, and is deeply opinionated.
Nailgun gets into conflicts well enough, but isn't the best at the combat involved in getting out of them. He has a lot of spark to his attitude, but likes to let others do the fighting itself.

Notes

• Nailgun has Scratchers that he uses as a sort of built-in picks for his guitar playing, which gives him a very unique sound.
• After getting his hand shot off, he opted to replace that entire arm with a more obvious cybernetic arm. His guitar can be folded up into this arm, making it much easier to carry around. It also has a lighter in the fingertips that can be lit by snapping his fingers.
• He's unfortunately addicted to smoking.
• Nailgun doesn't actually make very much money, so he lives in cargo container housing and subsists on kibble.
